I am seeking any information about the GRIMES family who resideded in Clark County (Charlestown, Jeffersonville & Utica). James Knox Polk GRIMES (b.9 Jul 1845, Magnolia IL) married 7 May 1865 in Jeffersonville to Katherine MORROW (b.16 Mar 1844 in Utica). Two children born while they lived in Utica: baby girl on 11 Mar 1886, and Cora on 16 May 1867. James and Kathering moved to Kansas, probably in 1868. James' brother Jesse GRIMES was still living in Utica in the summer of 1919 and August 1924. I have considerable information about Kate and James descendents, but none about their parents or siblings.

Would like more information on the PHILLIPY family who came to Oregon Twp, Clark Co, from Guilford Co, NC in the 1830s. Specifically, the siblings and parents of Gabirel PHILLIPY born in Guilford Co, NC in 1828, m. Nancy AMICK in 1846 and later moved to Bartholomew Co. STONER /STOVER: Would greatly appreciate any STONER sightings you might have of the family from Clark and surrounding counties! Looking especially for MARY C. STONER "of Stoner Bridge" near Henryville, Clark, IN. According to the 1870 census, then age 27, she would have been born abt 1843. Who were her parents? Family? She allied (have located no marriage certificate) with Thomas MINTON about 1865 and helped rear his earlier children with previous spouse, Matilda MOORE, as well as their own four children: S.S. "Stanley", Margaret "Mag" (b 1869), Helen, and Ida Selden (b 1873). Any STONER or MINTON connections gratefully accepted! Many thanks.
