Be it Remembered, That on this 15th day of Oct in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Sixty personally appeared be- fore me the Clerk of the Floyd Circuit Court, within the Second Judicial Circuit of the State of aforesaid Edgar Sievers who made oath that he is a native of Hanover aged about 50 years, that he emigrated from Bramen in 1847 and arrived in the United States, to wit: at New Orleans on the 24th day of May 1847, by trade a Farmer, that he now resides within and under the jurisdiction and government of the United States, to-wit at Floyd County and that it is bona fied his intention to become a Citizen of the United States, and denounce forever, all Allegiance and Fidelity to every Foreign Prince, Potentate, State, and Sovereignty whatever, and particularly to the King of Hanover to whom he now bears allegiance. In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name, and affixed the Seal of said Court, at the Court House in the City of New Albany, this 15th day of Oct A. D., 1860. Salem P. Town, Clerk |
