Son of Samuel F. and Adah J. Bidwell; born June 20, 1892, Upland, Grant County, Ind. Telegraph operator. Enlisted in Company B, Indiana National Guard, Fort Wayne, Ind., August 4, 1917. Sent to Camp Shelby, Miss. Overseas in October, 1918; transferred to Headquarters Company, 38th Division. Returned to U.S. in May, 1919, suffering from tuberculosis. Sent to Ft. Bayard, N.M. for treatment. Died September 26, 1919. Buried, Upland, Ind. The American Legion Post, Upland, Ind., named in his honor.
