    Son of John B. and Emma Bodkins; born April 22, 1890, Marion, Ind. Telephone lineman. Entered service July 26, 1918. Sent to Camp Jackson, S.C.; assigned to 34th Company, 3rd Provisional Regiment, 156th Depot Brigade. Transferred to 4th Battery, Automatic Replacement Draft, Field Artillery. Embarked for overseas September 22, 1918, on the Ticonderoga. Lost his life September 30, 1918, when the Ticonderoga was sunk. Survived by widow, ______ Friedman Bodkins, Canton, Ohio.
