Son of George and Minerva Button; born February 28, 1896, Marion, Ind. Mechanic. Enlisted in U.S. Regular Army June 4, 1917, Ft. Thomas, Ky.; assigned to Battery C, 19th Field Artillery. Went overseas in March, 1918. In front line service for three months. Met his death November 20, 1918, by the accidental explosion of a German fuse. Buried in Grave No. 61, Sec. 17, Plot 2, Thiaucourt, Meurthe-et-Moselle, France.
