Son of William and Maria Scott; born August 9, 1881, Henry County, Ind. Family moved to Fairmount, Grant County, Ind. in 1892. Employee of glass factory. Working in Chicago, Ill., when he enlisted April 12, 1917, in Company M, 6th Illinois National Guard (Battery C, 123rd Field Artillery). Sent to Camp Lowden, Springfield, Ill. Transferred to Camp Logan, Tex., where he died February 25, 1918, from accidental causes. Buried in Park Cemetery, Fairmount, Ind.
