He distinguished himself during the offensive period from September 3 - 6 , 1918, when his battery was subjected to numerous bombardments by the enemy artillery. Under many circumstances he repaired the telephone lines that had been but by the shells.

Overseas April 24, 1918 - March 12, 1919. Wounded October 12, 1918. Discharged June 14, 1919. Marion.
