Entered service September 21, 1917, Decatur, Indiana. sent to Camp Taylor, Kentucky; assigned to 67th Company, 159th Depot Brigade; later to Headquarters Company, 139th Field Artillery. Transferred to Wilmington, Delaware; assigned to Company B, 12th Battalion, U.S. Guards. Died o pneumonia October 21, 1918, Wilmington, Delaware. Buried in Maplewood Cemetery, Decatur, Indiana.
