Daniel Hauk
Daniel Hauk, son of Philip and Sarah (Baldwin) Huak was born in the town of Venice, Butler County, Ohio, in 1832. In 1839, he was removed by his parents to Montgomery County, Indiana, where he assisted on the home farm until 1859, when he married Miss Missouri Tracy, daughter of Bazil and Elizabeth Tracey, and in 1860 came to this township (Gilboa), purchased 120 acres of good land, erected substantial buildings, and began general farming and stock-raising, which he still follows. In politics, he is a Democrat, and takes an active part in the public affairs of his township. He and wife are members of the Church of God. Mr. Hauk having joined at the age of eighteen, and they are the parents of one son, and two daughters. Source: Counties of Warren, Benton, Jasper and Newton, Indiana. Historical and Biographical.
