John M. Wilson
John M. .Wilson, farmer and small stock-raiser, is a native of Scotland, as were also his parents, William and Margaret Wilson, who came to America in 1867, and now reside in La Salle County, Illinois. John M. Wilson emigrated to this country in 1864. In 1870, he was married to Miss Marion Henderson, a native of Scotland, daughter of Robert and Jane Henderson, also natives of Scotland, who came to the United States in 1874 or 1875, and are now living in Newton County, Indiana. After renting land for several years, Mr. Wilson moved to his present home of 160 acres, which he had previously owned, in 1870, and has added thereto until he has now 270 acres, in good condition and well improved, with good house, underdraining, and many comforts, he handles from fifteen to twenty head of cattle, and from thirty to fifty heads of hogs yearly; he also averages from 4,000 to 5,000 bushels of corn each year.
