Clyde Millard........Private Son of David B. and Grace Millard; born May 3, 1900, Bristol, Virginia. Moved to Blackford County, Indiana in February, 1902. Apprentice moulder. Enlisted in U.S. Regular Army January 15, 1917, Columbus, Ohio. Transferred to Camp Colt, Pennsylvania. Went overseas in June, 1917; assigned to Company M, 18th Infantry, 1st Division. Took part in several major offensives. Died April 27, 1918, from wounds received in action at Cantigny, France. The American Legion Post, Montpelier, Indiana named in his honor.
