W. W. Holmes
W. W. Holmes, one of the enterprising business men of Hartford City, a member of the firm of Holmes & Shinn, is a native of Indiana, born in Huntington County, May 2, 1863, a son of J. P. and Anna Holmes. When he was eight years old his parents removed with their family to Delaware County, locating at Eaton, where he attended school regularly during his residence at that place. Six years later the parents changed their place of residence to Blackford County, and our subject completed his education in the schools of Hartford City. At the age of sixteen years he began working in a spoke factory, where he was employed three years. He then learned the jeweler's trade, mastering all its details, and ahs since successfully carried on the business. He is a Knight of Pythias, and is a charter member of the lodge of that order at Hartford City.
