    Son of Frederic and Anna Diefenbach Amm; born September 30, 1894, near Manchester, Dearborn County, Indiana. Farmer. Called into service July 22, 1918, Lawrenceburgh, Indiana. Sent to Camp Taylor, Kentucky; assigned to 22nd Company, 6th Battalion, 159th Depot Brigade. Transferred to Camp McClellan, Alabama. returned to Camp Taylor, Kentucky, where he died of appendicitis, February 25, 1919. Buried in Cemetery of St. Stephen's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dearborn County, Indiana.
