Raymond Beard............Private

    Son of Frank and Anna Beard; born July 28, 1899, Sparta, Kentucky. Employee of the Royer Wheel Company, Aurora, Indiana, when he entered service December 26, 1917, Cincinnati, Ohio. Sent to Ft. Thomas, Kentucky. Embarked for overseas April 6, 1918. Assigned to Company H, 4th Infantry. Wounded in action in the Argonne Forest and removed to U.S. Hospital No. 27, where he died October 25, 1918. Buried in American Cemetery, Neufchateau, Vosges, France.
