John Gutzwiller
John Gutzwiller, farmer, Kelso Township, is one of six children born to John and Anna Gutzwiller, who were natives of Switzerland. Our subject is also a native of Switzerland, where he was born, June 21, 1816, and from thence, in 1832, immigrated to Dearborn County, Indiana, settling in Kelso Township, where he has since resided. He was married in this township, June 10, 1845, to Helena Winter, and had by her eight children: Jonn, Jacob (deceased), Joseph, Martin, Rosie, Christena (deceased), Mary E. (deceased), and Caroline (deceased). His wife died June 29, 1858. He was again married, June 4, 1861, to Mrs. Mary Frohliger, by whom he had one child, Mary L. Mr. Gutzwiller is a good citizen and has a respected family. they are all members of the Catholic Church, and are highly esteemed by all who know them.
