George Huschart

    George Huschart, of the firm of George Huschart & Co., marble dealers, Lawrenceburgh City, is a native of Bavaria, born May 11, 1819. He immigrated to America in 1833 with his parents, his father entering Congress land in this county. He lived on the farm till eighteen years of age, and then took up the trade of marble cutting, in which he has since been engaged.

    Mr. Huschart was married in 1841, to Margaret Lang. Their children are George H., Michael M., Frank M., Henry A., Margaret, Frances, Mary, Lana M. and Clara. These are engaged as follows: Michael M., in the marble business, Lawrenceburgh; Frank M., salesman for Roth & Myer, Cincinnati, Ohio; George H., commission merchant, Baltimore; Frances, wife of John P. Georgen, Chicago; Mary, a sister in the convent, Fort Wayne; Lana, wife of Marks Keiffer, Camden, New Jersey.

    Mr. Huschart is one of Lawrenceburgh's most worthy citizens. He began the marble business with one Umpstead in 1840. The firm deals in the best foreign and domestic marble, statuary, tombstones and granite monuments, freestone building work, etc., doing a flourishing business.
