Chief yeoman, February, 1899; assistant paymaster, February 17, 1903; passed assistant paymaster, September 15, 1909; lieutenant commander (relative rank), July 1, 1913; commander, Supply Corps (temporary), as pay inspector, July 1, 1918; captain, Supply Corps, as pay director, June 3, 1922. Still in service.

F., Germany, January 1, 1919: William McAdams, private, Company I, 166th Infantry: It gives me great pleasure to commend you upon your gallant and meritorious conduct during the engagement with the enemy in the Meuse_Argonne offensive. Private McAdams was a runner during the offensive of October 11-18, 1918, carrying messages through heavy shell fire and maintaining liaison with the neighboring units.
