David Hiram McAllister........Corporal

    Son of Orson and Ettie Schramme McAllister; born September 5, 1896, Gallatin County, Kentucky. Moved to Dearborn County, Indiana in 1906. Employee of Bauer Cooperage Company, Lawrenceburg. Enlisted in U. S. Regular Army February 26, 1917, Columbus Barracks, Ohio. Transferred to Douglas, Arizona; assigned to Company G, 18th Infantry. Overseas in June, 1917. Died of pneumonia September 21, 1918, Neufchateau, Vosges, France. The American Legion Post, Lawrenceburg, Indiana is named in his honor.
