    Son of William B. and Katherine F. Ross; born July 18, 1900, Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Enlisted in U. S. marine Corps December 29, 1917, Cincinnati, Ohio. Sent to Parris Island, South Carolina; transferred to Quantico, Virginia. Overseas in April, 1918; transferred to 55th Company, 5th Regiment. Killed in action about June 12, 1918, Belleau Woods. Buried Lucy Le Bois, Grave No. 108, Aisne, France. The American Legion Post, Aurora, Indiana, named in his honor.
