Lawrence Schaich
Lawrence Schaich, Harrison Township, was born in 1823. He is a native of Germany, and was there employed in a wine dairy till 1846, when he immigrated to America and located in Cincinnati. He was working in and about Cincinnati about two years when he came to this township and purchased twenty acres of land, to which he has since added sixty acres more at different intervals. He married Sophia Haine in 1849 and they have six children: Elias, Elizabeth, wife of Frederick Kohlman; Kate, wife of Henry Benninger; Mary, wife of Michael Renck; Louise, wife of Henry Valtz, and John. Mrs. Schaich was born in Germany, and immigrated to America in 1848. The family is well respected and well provided with the necessaries of life as a result of many years of hard labor.
