George R. Kendrick
George R. Kendrick, junior member of the firm of Williams & Kendrick, was born in Licking County, Ohio, July 22, 1852, a son of Thomas and Mary E. (Reed) Kendrick, who were the parents of eight children, George being the third child. When he was a babe his parents removed to Cass County, Indiana, where he resided until 1874. He early learned the wagon-makers trade, and that has been his occupation since he was nineteen years old. In 1874 he removed to Jay County, locating at Briant, where he worked at his trade in a small way for three years. He then removed to Westchester and worked until 1883, then returned to Briant and formed a partnership with Mr. Williams, and established the Briant Wagon Works.
