    Son of Edward and Nancy Jackson; born May 3, 1898, Versailles, Indiana. Family moved to Madison, Indiana in 1911. Clerk. Enlisted in Company I, 4th Regiment, Indiana National Guard, July 28, 1917, Madison, Indiana. Sent to Camp Shelby, Mississippi; assigned to Battery E, 139th Field Artillery. Died of pneumonia February 14, 1918, Camp Shelby, Mississippi. Buried at Fairmount, Near Madison, Indiana.
