    Son of William and Amanda Jones Warren; born November 22, 1881, Jefferson County, Indiana. Laborer. Entered service in February, 1918. Sent to Fort Thomas, Kentucky. Transferred to Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana; assigned to Company H, 28th Infantry. Went overseas, and was killed in action May 30, 1918. (Place unknown). Reported by the newspapers as the first man from Madison to fall in battle.
