    Son of Morgan F. and Emma L. Whitham; born May 11, 1899, near Hicks, Jefferson County, Indiana. Farmer. Entered service June 24, 1918, Madison, Indiana. Sent to Camp Sherman, Ohio; then to Camp Mills, New York; assigned to Headquarters Company, 334th Infantry, 84th Division. Sent overseas in September, 1918. Died of pneumonia October 11, 1918, Base Hospital No. 10, France. Body to be returned to U.S. for burial in cemetery near his home in Jefferson County, Indiana.
