    Son of Henry D. and Millie J. Foley; born February 2, 1898, Garrett, Douglas County, Illinois. Moved to Morgan County, Indiana in 1915. Farmer. Enlisted in Company G, Illinois National Guard, August 16, 1917 (Company G, 130th Infantry). Sent to Jefferson Barracks, Missouri. Transferred to Effingham, Illinois. Sent to Camp Logan, Texas, where he was killed February 13, 1918, by two negro prisoners who he was guarding. Buried at Hall, Morgan County, Indiana.
