    Son of William C. (deceased) and Eva Ratliff, born March 10, 1899, Washington Township, Morgan County, Indiana. Barber. Enlisted in Company K, 1st Infantry, Indiana National Guard (Company K, 151st Infantry) April 14, 1917, Martinsville. Sent to Camp Shelby, Miss. Overseas June 11, 1918; assigned to Company F, 18th Infantry, 1st Division. Died of wounds October 10, 1918. Survived by widow, Minnie Anderson Ratliff and son, John William, Indianapolis.
