    Son of Henry H. and Martha A. Allen; born April 20, 1895, Willow Hill, Illinois. Moved to Sullivan County, Indiana in 1905. Farmer. Entered service in April, 1918 in Iowa. Sent to Camp Dodge, Iowa; assigned to Company D, Machine Gun Company. Transferred to Camp Travis, Texas. Embarked from Camp Mills, New York June, 1918. Wounded September 14, 1918, Hospital No. 1, near Toul. Buried in Cemetery No. 108, at Sebastopol Barracks, France.
