    Son of John S. and Mary Scott Coffman; born June 18, 1889, Thurman Township, Sullivan County, Indiana. Farmer. Enlisted in U. S. Navy June 23, 1918, Terre Haute, Indiana. Sent to Great Lakes Naval Training Station, Illinois; where he died of pneumonia October 2, 1918. Buried in Center Ridge Cemetery, Sullivan County, Indiana.
