    Son of Stephen E. and Lucinda A. Dial; born March 7, 1893, Boonville, Warrick County, Indiana Automobile mechanic. Entered service September 23, 1917, Detroit, Michigan. Sent to Camp Custer, Michigan. Overseas July 22, 1918; assigned to Company M, 339th Infantry, 85th Division. Sent to Archangel, Russia, where he was killed in action March 31, 1919. Buried, Carlisle, Indiana. Survived by widow, Anna A. Rogers Dial, Detroit, Michigan.
