    Son of George W. and Ella Turman Nowlin (deceased); born April 7, 1886, Turman Township, Sullivan County, Indiana. Clerk. Entered service July 26, 1918, Sullivan County, Indiana. Sent to Camp Taylor, Kentucky; assigned to 39th Company, 10th Training Battalion, 159th Depot Brigade; transferred to 9th Company, 3rd Development Battalion. Contracted pneumonia, and died October 19, 1918, Camp Taylor, Kentucky. Buried in Mann Cemetery, Turman Township, Sullivan County.
