George W. Crawford
George W. Crawford, farmer, was born in this township, October 30, 1846, and is the tenth of a family of eleven children. His father was a native of Ohio, and his mother of Kentucky. George W. Crawford's education was of the character taught in the district schools. In 1875, Mr. Crawford purchased the old homestead, consisting of 190 acres, and is one of the best farms in the county. On January 14, 1875, he was married to Miss Sarah Porter, daughter of Elias and Lavina Porter. to this union were born two children -Stella L. and Porter. Mr. Crawford is a man of intelligence and enterprise, and is a Republican in politics, having given his first Presidential vote for Gen. grant.
