Jesse Swisher

    Jesse Swisher is a native of this county, born in the year 1842, and is a son of Jacob and Clarissa Swisher. He lost his father when he was six years old, and worked as a herder of cattle from that period until he was eighteen. He served two years as a soldier in the late war, a member of the Twenty-second Indiana Regiment; he took part at the siege of Atlanta, and was under Gen. Sherman in his memorable march in Georgia.

    His wife is Martha A. McIntosh, a daughter of James H. and Elizabeth McIntosh, to which union have been born three children -Clarissa V., Warren C. and Harvey L. Mr. Swisher has a good farm, but without as many and convenient buildings and improvements as he desires; but he and wife are working diligently to that end. They have an interesting and promising family, and are members of the Christian Church.
