Ezekiel Farmer
Ezekiel Farmer is a native of the county where he now resides, born November 22, 1823, a son of William and Nancy (Bates) Farmer, natives of Virginia, where they were married, and from whence they came to Warrick County, Indiana at an early day. Ezekiel was left fatherless when but an infant, and at the age of fifteen years began doing for himself, receiving but a limited education. For his first wife he married Florinda J. Campbell, by whom he was the father of eight children. This lady dying in 1876, he married Mrs. Elizabeth M. (Chinn) Phillips, his present wife. Mr. Farmer makes farming a specialty, owning 340 acres of good land. He began life a poor boy, and by diligence and perseverance has acquired a substantial home and surroundings. He is a Democrat in politics, and his wife is a member of the Regular Baptist Church. They were among the leading and wealthy citizens of the county, respected by all who know them.
