    Son of Peyton and India Gammon; born May 15, 1887, near Tennyson, Warrick County, Indiana. Farmer. Entered service August 25, 1918, Boonville, Indiana. Sent to Camp Custer, Michigan; assigned to 4th Company, 1st Battalion, 160th Depot Brigade; transferred to Company E, 14th Ammunition Train. Died of influenza October 13, 1918, Camp Custer, Michigan. Buried in Garrison Chapel Cemetery, Warrick County, Indiana. Survived by widow, Esther Gammon, and daughter, Norma Ruth Gammon, Tennyson, Indiana.
