Bartholomew Wood
Bartholomew Wood, a native of Campbell Township, Warrick County, Indiana, was born May 31, 1850, the youngest of three children -Isaac, Mary (Mrs. Bethell), and Bartholomew, born to James and Elizabeth (Burton) Wood, who were also natives of this county, where they still reside. The subject of this sketch received a good common school education, and made his father's house his home until his marriage. August 31, 1872, with Miss Eliza E. Lewright, a daughter of B. S. and C. J. (Hargrave) Lewright, who were natives of Indiana. Mr. Wood is a farmer and stock-raiser by occupation, and owns ninety-one acres of good land, well improved with substantial buildings. He is an energetic farmer and citizen, and is well respected by all who know him. He is a Democrat in politics, and takes considerable interest in local politics of his county as well as in all laudable enterprises. Mr. and Mrs. Wood are free thinkers in religion, and the parents of five children, named Clara J., Letta E. (deceased), M. Estella, James M., and Isaac S.
