Another Runaway

Bucklin Banner, June 7, 1901

While starting for home Wednesday afternoon Mrs. Close's team became frightened near the depot and ran away, going up the north road at a 2-40 gait.  Mr. Montgomery was a quarter of a mile ahead of the team when it started, with a load of lumber but could not get out of the way in time and they crashed into his wagon demolishing one of the wheels of his wagon causing him to return to town for repair.  Very little damage was done to the runaway outfit.
