Laid to Rest.
Mrs. Caroline Wilson Knowlton died last Monday evening after a
lingering illness caused by cancer of the stomach. She was born in Malone,
Franklin county, New York on August 7, 1839 and lacked but 2 days of being 62
years years old at the time of her death.
She was married to Henry Knowlton March 27, 1858 and came to Blue Rapids,
Marshal county in 1866 where she and her husband had resided until March of the
present year, when she came to this country, settling on a farm, 3 1/2 miles
southeast of town. She had just completed a nice new house and become situated
so she could enjoy life had ill health not intervened. Seven children were born
to Mr. and Mrs. Knowlton, four of whom are dead and three living.
The funeral sermon was preached at 10 o'clock on Wednesday and the remains were
consigned to rest in the Bucklin cemetery with appropriate ceremonies.
The members of the bereaved family have the sincere sympathy of their numerous
fiends.
