Blanche E. Sanko
Spearville------Blanche E. Sanko, 74, died April 21, 1999, at Western Plains Medical Complex, Dodge City.
Born Jan. 18, 1825, in Dodge City, the daughter of Ray and Mary Belle (Hull) Simmons, she married Robert "Bob" Sanko on May 1, 1944 in Offerle.
She owned and operated the Sanko Service and Repair Shop.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Altar
Society and the Spearville Senior Club, all of Spearville; VFW
Auxiliary, the Pairs and Squares Dance Clue; Because Club; and the
Southwest Kansas Regional Square Dance Committee.
Survivors, include; husband of the home, three sons, Don and Mark, both of Spearville, and Tom, Dodge City, three daughters Rozan Ensor, Rocky Ford, Colorado, Conny Heiland, Jamestown, Missouri and Sonja Stecker, Spearville; mother Dodge City, three brothers Gaylord Kisner and Melvin Simmons, both of Dodge City, and John Junior Kisner, Peach Springs. Ariz., one sister Frances Bostrom, Lakin, 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
The vigil service will be at 7:30 P.M. today at St. John the Baptist
Catholic church, Spearville, The funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M.
Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Mike Helms officiating. Burial
will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Spearville
Friends may call from 9 am. to 3 P.M. today at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City.
The family suggests memorials to either the Spearville VFW Auxiliary Post No. 5984, or the Cancer Grant Fund, both in care of the funeral home.
