Hurrah for the Rock Island R. R.

The Abilene, Sterling & South Western R. R., (virtually meaning the Rock Island) has been chartered with Senator Kelley, of McPherson, five gentlemen of Sterling and Frank Cox, of this city as directors.  This is a Rock Island project, eminated and advised by the said company, and just as sure as the people answer in the affirmative upon the question of bonds, they will enjoy the full and free benefit of a Rock Island railroad.

Let us wake up on this matter and fully realize what is in store for Stafford and Stafford county.  Yesterday the commissioners in Rice Co. called election for this road in Rockville and Washington townships,  Now let us shake - our cup of joy is about full - with the Chicago Kans & Western; Denver Memphis & Atlantic and the Abeline Sterling & South Western R. R. will place us in the front rank, with Wichita, Hutchinson and their respective counties.  Now let us all pull on the same string and hard.
