Biographies
Frederick Robb
Born
in Maryland in 1789, Frederick Robb, was the son of Michael Robb and Elizabeth
Markee of Alsace-Lorraine Germany. His grandfather, Frederick B. Robb
was
also
a native of Germany. Frederick migrated to Jessamine County, Kentucky
before 1800, later coming to Franklin County, where he settled in the Bridgeport
area. He
began
purchasing various tracts of land suitable for tavern sites; one parcel which
he sold to Shelah Bailey.
Frederick
married Mary Neat, daughter of John and Susan Neat. By Mary, eleven
children were born; Michael, George W., Susan, Eliza, Mary Ann, Sallie, Martha,
William
N., Jonas, James, and Joseph. Mary Neat Robb died in 1855. Frederick
remarried Julia A. ___. He died in Shelby County in
1861.
