Genealogies of Franklin County Families

Noah and Mary Dickens Penn

Noah Penn, son of Benjamin Penn, Jr. and Rebecca Ryan, was born about 1797, probably in Bourbon County, Kentucky. Noah married Mary Dickens
on May 22, 1822 in Shelby County, Kentucky.  The family appears on census for 1830 and 1840 in Henry County, Kentucky.  Noah Penn died sometime
prior to 1850.  His widow, Mary is still living in Henry County and is listed on census there for 1850, 1860 and 1870.  A complete listing of the children of
Noah and Mary Dickens Penn is not proven at this time.

There is much controversy among Penn family researchers concerning the descendants of Joseph Penn, Noah Penn and Henry Penn. All three men died
intestate prior to 1850 and to add to the confusion, married women named Mary. Information located in Franklin and Henry counties on these families
has been included.
