Gowens Burying Ground

This cemetery is located on St. John Road approximately 4 miles from the Bryant-Benson junction. Stones
were visible and legible in the late 1970's; however, they may not be visible today.  This cemetery is on
property now owned by Brent Rhody.

Gowens, Lucretia (wife of Lewis F. Gowens) - April 15, 1816 - September 27, 1884
Moore, John G. (father) - November 25, 1835 - September 19, 1909                                                                      
Moore, Nancy Jane Gowens (mother) - August 14, 1843 - October 27, 1918 - D/C states burial here
Semonis, John - September 20, 1812 - August 22, 1872

W. S. (fieldstone) - November 27, 1863

BURIED in GOWENS BURYING GROUND - NO MARKERS

Gowens, Lewis F. (husband of Lucretia) - died about 1905, prior to D/C.  May be buried by Lucretia
Harrod, John Louis (husband of Mag) - May 15, 1854 - December 3, 1920 -D/C states burial here
Harrod, Margaret "Mag" Gowens (wife of John) - died between 1910-20 - No D/C.  May be buried here by John

Semones, Jane (dau. of Bazell) - died November 17, 1918 - 83 years - D/C states burial here
