and has been married 61 years. They have raised 8 children, the youngest
of which is 36 years old. They has 28 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
Death has never invaded the sacred precincts of this home. The father of
Mr. BICKERS [William BICKERS, a native of Orange County, Virginia] lived
to the ripe old age of 107 years, his mother 102. THis aged couple lived
on their farm near Holbrook, where they went to housekeeping for about 60
years. They have been member of the White Chapel Methodist Church for 63
years, and soon after their marriage they erected an altar to their Creator,
and at the birth of each child they dedicated it to Him and His service and
prayed continually that each child be commended to his keeping. May the tie
in the family of the consecrated couple be unbroken for many years to come,
and again united above where ties are never broken. [Fielden's father, William,
is the 4th great-grandfather of the Abstracter, Robert L. BICKERS, who descends
