R. E. WEBSTER of Mt. Zion lost his [left] hand in a shredding machine November 7; amputated by Dr. J. L. PRICE.
Death of Edward SIDENER, 75, old citizen of Sherman neighbor of the Sherman neighborhood on Friday evening; lived with son Newton SIDENER; remains shipped to Sadieville, where he formerly lived, for burial Saturday.
Sherman Siftings: All the latest happenings from the Village by the Lakeside: Sherman, Kentucky, November 16 [1906]: Death of Mrs. Elmer THORNTON last Saturday night of lingering consumption; Rev. Z. W. PIGG preached funeral at her home; buried Tuesday at Goforth Cemetery.

Hasty marriage last Thursday at Covington of Roy BERDGE and Miss henrietta ELIHART of Covington. He is employed by the United States Custom Service, lately of the Philippines, recently called to serve in Colon, Panama.
Crittenden Town Marshal, Lewis DUNCAN, shot and instantly killed Jefferson BREEDEN at Bracht, four miles north of Crittenden in Kenton County. BREEDEN fired three shots at DUNCAN. [Florence BREEDEN, a daughter]
Death of Uncle Lewis COLLINS of Rutland, Harrison County, died suddenly last Sunday. Funeral held at his home by his pastor, Elder Jas. S. GILBERT. Buried in the family burying ground. Was past 80; a Christian gentleman and member of Primitive Baptist Church at the Old Turner Creek, near Cynthia. Was brother-in-law of Uncle Tom BROWNING and Uncle Sam ECKLER.
Death of Mrs. Josephine WEBSTER, wife of Berry WEBSTER,at her home near Mt. Zion Wednesday, November 14, aged 52 years, 11 months, and 28 days. Joined Clark's Creek Baptist Church when 48; leaves husband and one girl child.
Mt. Zion News: (1) Born to the wife of Fred McCLURE, on the 20th, a girl; (2) Born to the wife of R. H. ALEXANDER on the 21st, a boy.

Sudden death of Henry THEOBALD, Wednesday, an old citizen on Abe ECKLER's farm, northeast of town; diagnosed as bone erysipelas.
Marriage of Miss Lily HEDGES, daughter of Chas. Hedge and Lewis YORD [=YORK], son of A. K. YORK, at bride's home in South Dry Ridge, Wednesday, by Rev. McMILLAN of Portland, Pendleton County; reception at the groom's father's.
Marriage of C. T. CASEY and Miss Naomi HIGHTOWER at the Knoxville Church Wednesday, by Rev. J. S. STEERS; he of Pendleton County; she the daughter of R. M. HIGHTOWER, Knoxville.

Marriage of Miss Ophelia HUMPHREY and W. D. COFFIN, Saturday, December 6, 1906; married at Milton, Trimble County, Kentucky, at the Christian Church parsonage by Elder W. B. SNYDER; both lived near Milton; courted 44 years; she would not marry as long as her mother lived; both were 63.
Death of R. B. TURNER of Williamstown, about 60, killed by a train last Monday evening [in Williamstown]; member of Williamstown missionary Baptist Church; survived by [unnamed] wife, daughter Miss Eva TURNER, and two sons, S. P. TURNER of Covington and John TURNER, at home; buried in Williamstown Cemetery.
Death: In last week's paper [November 30, 1906] we stated that Henry THEOBALD had died of "bone erysipelas" according to Dr. C. A. ECKLER, who denies having said so as "there is no such disease known' ad "he is not in the habit of diagnosing a case after the patient is dead."
Birthday: An anniversary ball for and at the residence of Frank CONNOR, Zion Station, Kentucky, November 26 will honor his 35th birthday.

In Covington, Kentucky, December 10, Granville STEWART, 56, and Isabelle W. HUNT, 15, both of Mt. Sterling, were married by Rev. J. S. BLACKBURN. [Yes, their ages are correct! --Abstracter.]
Miss Lettie JUMP, 23, died of consumption last Friday; only daughter of Mike JUMP; funeral and burial at Clarks Creek Church Saturday.
On Monday morning the seven year old daughter of Cyras LAWRENCE, who had been sick for some time, died, and was buried Wednesday. Mr. LAWRENCE recently moved to town [Williamstown], having formerly been of the Fork Lick neighborhood. [article dated December 10.]
Jonesville article date December 13, 1905 [error=1906]: James WILSON died very suddenly Friday morning. Interred in the Odd Fellows Cemetery Saturday afternoon.

Harvey FARRELL and Lena SALMON were married at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Wednesday afternoon [December 19], Rev. Hensley officiating.
Born to the wife of Lum COLCORD on the 12th, a baby girl. Lived at Cherry Grove. Names Shirley Marie in Greenville news column.
Mrs. TIPPETT [nee REDD] of Renaker, Harrison County, died Friday; complications of typhoid; remains moved to interment in Williamstown Cemetery Sunday; was sister of Mrs. William WEBB and brothers were Carter REDD, William REDD, Rev. Alex REDD and Rev. Jeff REDD.
Adrian DEWALT, nephew of John DEWALT, died at home of the latter last Saturday morning [December 15th mentioned in later column] lingering illness of consumption; 29 years of age and unmarried; services and burial at Knoxville Baptist Church.
Holbrook News: Prof. Robert INGRAM gave up his school at this place and has gone to Williamstown teaching in the 7th and 8th.
Corinth News: The remains of Kelly HUTCHERSON, son of Jas. HUTCHERSON, formerly a resident of this place, were brought to this place for burial Sunday evening from Rockport, Tennessee; he was killed by a construction train.
Rev. Ward RUSSELL of Texas and Miss Laura CARTER of this place [Williamstown] will be married on December 27 at the home of the bride. Rev. RUSSELL is a noted preacher and lecturer and his bride is the daughter of John [D.] CARTER, who operates a coal yard near the depot.
The small son of Cash ELLIOTT of near Williamstown died Tuesday and was buried in Williamstown Cemetery Wednesday.

Mary Lucy MOREHEAD, two year old daughter of Mrs. Addie MOREHEAD of near Broad Ridge, died Monday evening of pneumonia; funeral Wednesday; buried at Williamstown Cemetery.
Death of Mrs. Harrison OSBORNE of Jonesville, Friday evening last, of burns received some weeks previous; buried in the Macedonia Cemetery at Jonesville.
Death of Mrs. Narcissus LUCAS, wife of Richard LUCAS, at her home near Napoleon, Gallatin County, Saturday evening; born and reared in Grant County and several children live here; about 70; husband and several children survive; a Christian woman and member of the Christian Church; burial in Napoleon Cemetery Monday afternoon; living children are Joe, Arch, John, James, and Mrs. James WALLACE.
"Into the Beyond/Spirit of T. J. GOUGE of Mason Has Flown." "Uncle Jeff GOUGE is dead." Died Monday morning at 3 o'clock; was one of the oldest and best known citizens in Grant County; was born on the 24th day of February, 1823, only a few miles from the place where he died; ran a hotel in Williamstown for a short time; successful farmer; twice married, last wife [unnamed] survives him; father of 17, many have died; six living children are Marietta GOUGE, Millard GOUGE, Mrs. WOODLEY, Mrs. STROBROKE, Mrs. RUHALL, and Thomas J. GOUGE; member of the Primitive Baptist Church, services at Williamstown Methodist Church Wednesday. [Burial site not mentioned.]

Three Year Old Baby Kills Mama. Mrs. J. F. OBENCHAIN at home near Roanoke...victim of accidental poisoning by her 3 year old son mixing salts for medicine
J. H. WESTOVER, who has been running The Democrat [newspaper] at Owenton for the past year on a rental basis, announced last week that Mrs. J. H. WESTOVER is now the sole owner of the plant, having purchased it of F. C. GREEN, the former owner. The Democrat has the largest circulation of perhaps any paper in Northern Kentucky.
Marriage Vows: At the home of the bride's parents, four miles west of Dry Ridge, the marriage of John F. ALEXANDER and Miss Annie F. YELTON, was solemnized Wednesday afternoon by Rev. J. I. WILLIS; reception at Latonia; will make their home in Grant County; daughter of Mr. and mrs. Daniel YELTON.
Born to the wife of LEO ___WERUS [not readable], December 26, a boy.
Mrs. Carrie ELDROD, formerly Miss Carrie HOLTON, now of Los Angeles, California, will arrive to attend the beside of her mother in Brooksville.
Clara Hill, daughter of Rev. G. W. HILL, formerly of the county, died at Stamping Ground, Kentucky last Thursday from consumption; 3rd daughter, 19 years old; remains removed to Williamstown Friday; services and burial at the Baptist Church.
Marriage of Ernest FERRIL and Miss Aggie WINTERLING at the residence of Rev. Z. W. PIGG near Sherman, Christmas Day. will make their home in Grant County.
Corinth News: Miss Elizabeth MULBERRY and William HENAGE were married last Saturday.
Crittenden News: Charles SHEETS of Columbus, Ohio and Miss Jennie DICKERSON were married in Covington last week.
