January 4, 1907
H.L.D. BLANCHETT, of Blanchett, at the age of 80, resided at Blanchett Station, this county, passed away at his residence last Thursday, December 27; born in New Jersey, September 26, 1826, removed to this county in his youth; acquired farm of nearly 200 acres of best land in the south end of the county; wife preceded him in death by several years; left a will.
A boy born Monday evening to Mr. and Mrs. Riley BAKER of Lexington; mother is daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. O'NEAL.
General SIMPSON of Cross Roads and Miss Lizzie LAWRENCE, daughter of Milt LAWRENCE, prominent farmer of the Mt. Pleasant area were married at Covington last Tuesday; honeymooned in Cincinnati; he is a farmer and stock dealer.
Arthur THOMPSON, son of J. M. THOMPSON of Williamstown, and Miss Nellie ECKLER, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. ECKLER of Broad Ridge, were married in Covington Wednesday.
Miss Nell CHILDERS, employed in Louisville, was married Christmas Eve to J. A. CASSADY in the same city; honeymooned at his parents near Louisville then on to Chattanooga, Tennessee to live where he works.
R. H. STEPHENSON, Dry Ridge barber, was married several months ago [in 1906?] to Miss Mary Eliza CONRAD, daughter of Adam CONRAD.
Willie BAKER and his bride [unnamed] from Ludlow came to Greenville to visit friends.
Marriages Licenses issued at the County Clerk's Office [Williamstown] during the past week: (1) Jessie CHIPMAN, 21 and Carrie HARVEY, 24; (2) Pink MORGAN, 24, and Georgia BATES, 25.
Gardnersville: Born to Mr and Mrs. Truman BEIGLE, a girl, on Christmas morning [December 25, 1906].
Cordova News: One day last week James DARROUGH and Miss Bertha DOWD were quietly married at the home of the bride.
Jonesville: Charley BEVERLY, formerly of this place, and J. T. ROBERTS, were in our midst Sunday. Chas. says there is no place like home.
Jonesville: Born to Dr. COMBS and wife, a boy, on December 30, [1906].
Holbrook: The infant of Mr. and Mrs. Hedger BEARD died December 22, 1906 and was buried at the grave yard here. It was said that the child had diphtheria.
Corinth News: The 22-year-old grandson [unnamed] of Wood SHELTON died Monday.
Corinth News: The six weeks' old baby of G. W. GREEN, of near Stonewall, died Sunday

Erastus "Ras" B. CLARK died in Memphis, Tennessee hospital from peritonitis (while undergoing an operation for appendicitis) last Saturday evening; recently a guard at the Frankfort Penitentiary, lately took a job as a conduction with the Pullman Car Company; mother in Williamstown; had wife and four year-old baby girl; was Williamstown Marshal for years and candidate for Sheriff; married several years ago to Miss Bertha SIMPSON, daughter of Rev. J. W> SIMPSON; her father's family at Somerset, Kentucky; body received Monday on the fast train from the south. [No mention of burial site.]
Richard FRANKS, son of I. R. FRANKS of Mt. Zion, died at the Anchorage Asylum [Lakeland, Kentucky] Tuesday morning; lingering illness; underwent treatment for a mental derangement for some time; interred in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
T. J. ANDERSON of near Verona died last Wednesday, January 2 of dropsy; buried at Bethel Church Cemetery, near Verona, Thursday; J. B. SANDERS of this place conveyed the remains.
Mrs. Susan KENNEDY, an aged lady of the lebanon neighborhood near Crittenden, died Friday, and was buried at the Lebanon Church Saturday.
Miss Carrie HARVEY, daughter of W. E. HARVEY of Mason, and Jessie CHIPMAN, son of J. W. CHIPMAN, were married at the home of the bride last Thursday, January 3 by Rev. CLARK of Williamstown; reception at the T. J. JUMP Home.
Divorce and alimony suit filed by Ann FRANKS vs. J. C. FRANKS, one of the well-to-do farmer of the Stewartsville community.
A marriage license was issued Saturday to Wm. A. NEWKIRK of Covington, age 26, and Miss Ada BURROUGHS of this county, age 18. The wedding took place at the home of the bride on the 6th [of January, 1907]

Corinth, Kentucky, January 9: B. RATDLIFFE died Monday at New Columbus and was buried Tuesday.

Elmer ELLIOTT of the Cordova country, was married to a Miss JOHNSON at Leland, Illinois last week at the home of the bride.
Cordova: Harry NEWKIRK and Miss Adah BURROUGHS were married by Rev. SNAPP at the conclusion of the services at Layton's Chapel Sunday. Covington believed to be their new home.
Holbrook: Miss Lula SOUDER of near here and Bud SNELSON of Sweet Owen were married Wednesday.
Holbrook: The little child of Ed DEITZ was brought to White Chapel [church] for burial Sunday; the child was burned to death. [Abstracter's note: the child was Zettie DEITZ, daughter of James DEITZ Jr., and was born November 27, 1897 and died January 5, 1907. She was a granddaughter of James K. and Louise A. (Louisa) (nee BICKERS) DEITZ, who was a daughter of Morgan BICKERS and his 2nd wife, Jemima G. WILLIAMS. Morgan is the Abstracter's 3rd great grandfather.

Mrs. Mary A. [nee IRELAND] CROUCH, wife of Dr. W. S. CROUCH, died yesterday [date is undetermined because this is an account from the Stafford, Kansas newspaper] at her home on West Broadway [Stafford, Kansas]' funeral at the residence; burial in Stafford Cemetery; born in Scott County, Kentucky, December 22, 1843; first marriage to Dr. W. R. WOLF in 1861; six children; four living: Mrs. J. N. ROSE, Mrs. G. A. MIKESELL, Miss Musie WOLF and H. G. [Hally?] WOLF; married, second, in 1888 to W. S. CROUCH who survives her; member of the Christian Church.
Williamstown: Marriage license issued Monday to Fred WEBSTER, 22, and Pearl HUTTON, 17.

Corinth News Column; three deaths reported, dated January 17: (1) Miss Gertrude HOWARD died Monday morning at Canby. The funeral was preached Wednesday. (2) Wood Shelton died Monday and was buried 3 o'clock Thursday. (3) Miss Allie GLASS died Friday and was buried at the IOOF Cemetery Sunday. The funeral was preached by Rev. A. LUSBY.
Born to the wife of W. M. LANTERN, January 15, a boy.
Married By Telegraph: Sam Robinson of near Mason left last week for Missouri, wither he went for the purpose of getting married. The other party in this interesting affair is Miss Eliza HICKS, formerly of the same neighborhood. The wedding is said to have taken place by telegraph from St. Louis, the groom being unable to reach the side of his intended in time for the ceremony to be performed on schedule. The groom is the son of Samuel ROBINSON Sr. The bride was born and reared in this county. They will reside in this county after they return from a brief wedding trip in the west.
Nearly four-score years, Jacob BROOKS died Sunday morning at his home on the Warsaw Road of complications to old age; native by birth of the county; born November 25, 1829; married in 1851 to Jane BERKLEY; four children [unnamed]; she preceded him to the grave by eight years; he was a consistent Christian, having united with the Methodist Church more than half a century ago; funeral at Clark's Creek [church] Tuesday morning; buried there.
Cordova: Walter WHALEY and Miss Lula RYAN married at her home Wednesday of last week; will live in Greensburg, Indiana.
Heekin: The one year old child of Wm. SIMPSON died of pneumonia the 9th, and the funeral was preached at the Baptist Church at Williamstown the 10th by Rev. WILLS.
Walton [Boone County] News: Miss Cynthia ACKMAN, aged nearly 80, passed away January 10. She live at the old Albert Webster House two miles south of Walton,and leaves behind her sister, Sallie ACKMAN, 82 years of age, the last survivor of a family of eleven children. Several relatives live in Grant County, Kentucky, and many others in Posey County, Indiana.
Gardnersville: Miss Lillie MULLINS, a young lady of near Demossville, was buried at the Gardnersville Cemetery on Sunday afternoon; the funeral was preached at Grassy Creek.

C. W. REDNOWER, one of Williamstown's oldest citizens, died at his home in this city Saturday of last week as a result of an operation; George moved from this farm on Fork Lick, a very large tract; owner of a hotel and livery stable here; funeral at home Wednesday; buried in Williamstown Cemetery.
S. B. MUNSON, of Fork Lick neighborhood, died at home Monday morning; brief illness; attack of brain fever; was in his 49th year; buried at Cordova's Morgan Burying Ground.
Dr. J. W. ABERNATHY, a prominent physician of Mason, and Miss Cindah KING, of Bracken County, were married at the home of the bride at Willow Tuesday afternoon; will live at Mason where the Doctor has a large and growing practice; he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. ABERNATHY, Warsaw Road, near Hanks; Doctor taught school number of years in county, building a reputation as a pedagogue; studied medicine later; bride is daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marquis KING, prominent in Bracken County.
Mollie FLORENCE, daughter of John FLORENCE, and Ernest SIPPLE, son of James SIPPLE, were married Wednesday in Cincinnati; where they had eloped to.
At the home of the bride's parents, south of Williamstown, Lula GRAVES and George E. PRITCHAD were united in marriage Wednesday evening. The bride is only 15 years of age; groom is 25.
Lawrenceville: Born to the wife of Jasper COLSTON, a boy.

Gardnersville: Mr. De BELOW died at his home near here last Friday; conscientious Christian life; leaves a wife, several children; buried in Gardnersville Cemetery.
Mason: On the 25th at the home of Dr. C. S. SIMPSON, a gathering for his 55th birthday. His aged mother, Mary Ann SIMPSON, and many others present.

Corinth News: (1) Mrs. Armela ABBOTT, of Natlee, died Sunday; funeral was Sunday; burial was in the New Columbus Cemetery. (2) The remains of Mrs. Maggie BROOKS, who died in Cincinnati, Saturday, June [must mean January] 19, were brought here for burial Tuesday, January 22.
In Memory of little Eldred Cline SIMPSON, aged 11 months and 15 days. He was the youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. SIMPSON. Cline died at his home near Heekin, January 9 [1907], of pneumonia. Funeral at Williamstown Baptist Church; burial in Williamstown Cemetery.

Williamstown News: Miss Ethel KENDALL, daughter of Thomas KENDALL of Lexington, formerly of Mason, this county, died in that city Saturday; burial in Williamstown Cemetery; about 17 years old; neuralgia of the heart; Mr. Kendall was a Constable in the Mason District for several years.
Williamstown News: The daughter of Frank HENNEGAN died at Paris last week; buried at Corinth; Frank a former resident.
Williamstown News: The stork presented Mr. and Mrs. Clark LITTELL with a girl Tuesday evening.
Williamstown News: Ralph MYERS and Mrs. Lula M. REYNOLDS were married here Wednesday. It is the second venture for each of the contracting parties on the matrimonial sea.
Lewis BARNES, son of W. A. BARNES, was married in Covington to Miss Della ASHCRAFT Wednesday afternoon at the home of her parents [Mr. and Mrs. Asa ASHCRAFT]. They will live in Covington.
Mrs. W. S. BUCHANAN of Marion, Indiana was formerly Miss Norah KINSLAER.
Crittenden News: (1) There was a happy wedding part at Bracht Thursday of last week, the contracting parties being Miss JACOBS and Mr. COLSTON. (2) The remains of Harvey RICHARDSON's mother [unnamed] passed through here last Monday and were interred at Mt. Zion.
Williamstown News: Geo. RICE of Covington died suddenly last Saturday. He was a brother-in-law to our Mr. FENLEY.
Lawrenceville News: Mrs. J. C. HOLBROOK was called to the sick bed of her adopted daughter, Nannie, of Mason.
Lawrenceville News: Preston ISAAC, whom we reported very low at the Kansas Soldier's Home, is dead, and was buried at Warrensburg Monday.
Cherry Grove News: Born to Ott GOUGE and wife of Ludlow, a girl.
Cordova News: Luther DUNN and wife, who were married last week, will soon leave for Hamilton, Ohio where they will make their future home.
Cordova News: Monday afternoon, January 21, the angel of Death visited the home of Walter DUNN and called from their presence the small son, Buford. Survivors are father, mother, and little sister.
Heekin News: The friends of T. W. KENDALL and wife of Lexington were shocked to hear of the death of their only daughter, Miss Ethel, aged 17 years, last Sunday. They were former resident of this place.
Owen County Triplets - Three Girls Born to the Wife of Henry ESTES of Sweet Owen. Wife had twins three years ago, making 11 children total.
In Memory of S. B. MUNSON who died at his home near Cordova, January 20, 1907, of brain fever; services at home Tuesday, January 22, burial in Cordova; member of IOOF Lodge #100; leaves wife, five children, an aged mother, sister, two brothers.

Suspicious Circumstances - Corinth, Kentucky, February 7: Henry SNELLING and John FARRELL, intimate acquaintances, died in Cincinnati, the former on Wednesday and the latter on Thursday, from drinking a bottle of whiskey that was poisoned with arsenic, given them by a stranger; both bodies brought here [Cordova] for burial; both well along in years and lived here nearly all of their lives.
Williamstown: James (Uncle Jimmy) KELLS died Wednesday morning of an attack of grip and extreme old age; born in Ireland December 17, 1820; came to America in 1847; married Maria CONNELLY more than 51 years ago; she lived with him more than twenty-five years; thirteen children, eleven living; eight boys and three girls: Thos., Robert, George, John [Newport], Chas. [Rising Sun, Indiana], Jas. C., Joe, and Benjamin KELLS, Mrs. Jennie SMITH [Moreland, Casey County, Kentucky], Nancy SARGENT, and Mrs. Elizabeth LAFOLETTE. Was veteran of Civil War; enlisted under the stars and stripes at the breaking out of hostilities in 1861; stayed in whole course of war; lost his leg in the Battle of Atlanta in 1865; on total disability pension payroll; Presbyterian; once owned over 1000 acres in Grant and Pendleton counties; given more than half to children. It is not known whether or not he mad e will. Burial to be at the burying ground near his old home.
C. L. NORTHCUTT, prominent farmer of the Knoxville neighborhood, died Wednesday from stomach and other complications. Funeral held Thursday at Knoxville and buried in Knoxville Cemetery. Deceased was the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. NORTHCUTT.
Born to the wife of C. G. STEPHENSON, Sunday night, a boy.
Mr. and Mrs. Lewis YORK, who were married a few weeks ago, live on the J. GRUELL property on the Broad Ridge Pike.
Mrs. Matilday ATKINS died at Sherman Sunday night from consumption. Deceased was a young woman, being only 21 years of age; was buried in the cemetery at Clarks Creek.
Williamstown News: Jerry S. TOMLIN of Illinois, and Miss Nancy GIBSON of this county, were united in marriage at the Clerk's Office here last Saturday; Squire WEBB tying the knot.
Williamstown News: Ralph W. MYERS of this place, and Miss Lula May REYNOLDS, were married here last week; Rev. M. F. CLARK tying the knot.
Williamstown News: The many friends of Mrs. Reba DAVIS, nee WILSON, the daughter-in-law of D. L. CUNNINGHAM, will be grieved to learn that she is lying at the point of death; with little hope of recovery at her home in Ironton, Ohio, with an attack of typhoid-pneumonia.
Cordova News: Julius Hall and wife are welcoming the arrival of a boy, who glories in the name of Chauncey Ward HALL.
Gardnersville News: Wm. BONAR of Portland, Kentucky died Saturday morning after a very brief illness; burial Sunday at Smith Graveyard; was the stepfather of Mrs. John GARDNER.
Corinth News: Mrs. A. F. SHERFY died Sunday at her home about two miles west of this place; was excellent christian lady, the wife of Adam SHERFY; funeral was held at the home Monday with burial in the IOOF Cemetery.
Lawrenceville News: Born to the wife of J. K. EVANS, a boy.
In Memory of Buford, infant son of Walter and Nora DUNN, who died January 21, 1907, aged 9 months and 10 days.

Two Marriages on Eagle Creek at the home of Rev. Henry FRAKES, officiating. (1) John FORNASH and Lillie NORTH were married Wednesday. Groom is resident of Pendleton County, 36 years of age. It is his second venture on the sea of matrimony. The bride is 28 years of age, a resident of this county, and is making her second trip on the same waters. (2) Willard FORTNER, aged 19, married Miss Laura B. POE, aged 18, Tuesday, the 12th; groom is son of B. C. FORTNER of the Cross Roads Precinct; bride is the daughter of Edward POE.
Died in Cincinnati, Mrs. Alice Hall, nee ECKLER, Tuesday, February 5, at Bethesda Hospital. Funeral services were held Thursday following from the residence, 2431 Kemper lane, Walnut Hills. The deceased was a daughter of Jacob Eckler of this community [Williamstown]. She was the mother of Clarence CASEY of Knoxville.
Crittenden: Chester WYNN, son of Arch WYNN, died at the home of his father of pneumonia Tuesday; ill about 10 days; 25 years of age, unmarried; funeral by Jr. O.U.A.M. of which he was a member; buried in the Goshen Cemetery.
Downingsville News: Born to the wife of Riley WARE, a boy.
Elliston News: Mrs. T. B. WEBSTER died with cancer on the 10th; was buried at the old family burying ground near Mt. Zion.
Knoxville News: C. L. [Lum] NORTHCUTT died February 5 at this home in north Knoxville of stomach trouble; services conducted by Rev. M. S. CLARK of the Methodist Church; buried in the SIMPSON family burying ground in Knoxville; leaves wife, Eva, and a little daughter, Minnie; relatives in Grant and Pendleton counties; undertaker was J. B. SANDERS.

News of the Week Column: Murder. Anthony LUCK, who killed Dudley DELF of near Elliston, this county, with billard cue three years ago {1904?] at Latonia, has been apprehended at last and is in the Covington jail awaiting a trial for his crime.

Harry CLINGER will be married Wednesday evening at 7 o'clock to Edna VICE of Knoxville. They will make their future home at Waynesville, Ohio.
Corinth News: William BOWMAN died at 12:30 a.m. Saturday; one of the best blacksmiths in the county; leaves wife, daughter and son; buried in the Henry Graveyard, according to the rites and ceremonies of the K. of P., of which he was a member.
Corinth News: Last Wednesday evening the remains of William WILSON, son-in-law of R. N. WHITSON, of this place, were brought here for interment, at the SKINNER Burying Ground. Leaves a bride of a few months; his death resulted from a complication of diseases caused by suffocation in a tunnel on the Southern Railroad where he was employed as fireman.
Gardnersville News: Death of our old friend and neighbor, Uncle Billy MYERS, who sold out his farm here 9 or 10 years ago, and moved to Illinois with his family where he died.
Gardnersville News: Mrs. Betsey TOMLIN, an extremely old lady of below Gardnersville died after a short illness Sunday; was buried at Carters Chapel Monday.
Lawrenceville News: There is a rumor current to the effect Elzie HOWARD of this place, and Miss Mattie ROLAND of Williamstown, were united in marriage at the latter place last Saturday.
February 22, 1907
Suffering from mental aberration, Mrs. A. J. LOWE of the Cartersville neighborhood, at the heads of matches last Sunday evening and, as a result, died Wednesday morning. Funeral was Thursday with burial in the Williamstown Cemetery.
Death of Robert CHILDERS, formerly of near Delia, Grant County, in Covington on February 15 by being crushed between a refuse wagon and fence; he died instantly; was about 55 years old (with white hair and mustache) and was a helper on the city dump; he had been employed by the city for only ten days.

Zion Station, Kentucky: Mrs. J. M. CARLTON died at her home Thursday, the 14th. Survived by her husband and an aged mother. Funeral held at Mt. Zion. Devoted member of the Baptist Church.
Crittenden News: (1) Born on St. Valentine's Day to Grif KIDWELL and wife, a boy. (2) Born to J. U. [riah] ALLPHIN and wife Monday night, a boy. [The "U" is for Uriah, named after Uriah BICKERS, a great grand uncle of your Abstracter.]
Cordova News: (1) One of the Cordova boys, Luther HILES, went to Greensburg [Kentucky or Indiana/} last week we supposed to visit his sister, but when he came back he brought his happy bride with him. She was Lyda HALEY, formerly a Cordova girl. Will make their home near Stone Wall, Kentucky on the farm of James MULLBERRY. (2) James BROOKS and wife are rejoicing over the arrival of a boy.
Zion Station News: Many from this place attended the funeral of Mrs. Della CARLTON Saturday morning. The burial took place at the old home burying ground at Thos. McBEE's.
Zion Station, Kentucky: Mrs. Mary MONTGOMERY died Monday night after a lingering illness at the age of 63 years. She leaves two sons to mourn her demise.
Williamstown News: Miss Mary CAMBRON of Covington is to be married to Robert CLINTON of Nashville, March 4, 1907.
Williamstown News: Mr. and Mrs. R. F. HARRIS arrived from Louisville Wednesday morning with nine children from the Orphan's Home in Louisville, four boys and five girls, and are at the John House [a hotel]. The little waifs will be placed in good homes among the good people of Grant County, if possible.
Williamstown News: Mrs. Reba WILSON DAVIS died in Ironton, Ohio Tuesday from an attack of typhoid-pneumonia. Burial in Williamstown Cemetery Thursday. Was married a few months ago.

Reception at the home of the groom's parents. Will reside at the J. C. EVANS place recently purchased by J. B. O'NEAL.
Marriage of Rufus CUNNINGHAM and Miss Nannie VICE, two prominent young people of Williamstown,was solemnized Wednesday afternoon at the home of J. K. ROBERTS in that city by Rev. M. F. CLARK of the Methodist Church. Will live in Williamstown.
Marriage of Chas. T. MARKS and Miss Minnie FRANKS at the home of the bride, near Knoxville Wednesday afternoon, Elder J. S. STEERS of this place officiating. The groom if a son of Henry MARKS and is a prominent young farmer. The bride is a daughter of J. V. FRANKS.
Marriage of Alonzo MIDDLETON and Annie DRAPER, a young Pendleton County couple, in Williamstown THursday of last week with Rev. THOMPSON of the Baptist Church officiating.

Mrs. Maggie Jane LOWE died February 21, 1907 at her home near Williamstown. Sister LOWE obtained a hope in Christ when about 16 years of age and united with the Baptist Church in Dry Ridge. Born November 5, 1865. Married A. J. LOWE who survives. Three children, all boys: Omer, Willie and Robert. "I do not believe she was responsible for the unfortunate act that resulted in her death." [This appears to be written by her pastor, J. A. Davis.] Remains carried to the Baptist Church at Williamstown.
Mrs. Mary MONTGOMERY, widow of William N. MONTGOMERY, died at her Zion Station home February 13, 19078 at 72 years, 11 months. Funeral and burial at the Concord Baptist Church. Husband and three daughters preceded her in death. Survived by two sons, C. W. and J. W. MONTGOMERY.

Sunday night at 7 o'clock, instant death, talking business with brother, Homer, son of respected Grant County people [not named], grew up near Dry Ridge, trader, stock dealer, well-to-do, but reverses came and he moved to Covington; was 47 years of age; remains taken to brother's home; burial in Williamstown [Tuesday]; a widower and leaves two daughters, both about grown. Member of and always faithful to Baptist doctrine. Civil War veteran for the Union enlisting in 1861 til end [1865]; rose to rank of Sergeant as a non-companioned officer; marched with Sherman through Georgia to the sea; 18th Kentucky Volunteer Infantry, enlisted as private in Company B. Married Miss Fannie BONDURANT in 1865; two children; she died two years later and in 1873 he married secondly Dora STEVENS; six children, all living except two; all reside in Grant except one son, the first born, Archie; a brother, Dr. J. G. TOMLIN lives here, funeral at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Thursday afternoon, burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

ERNST of Tonapah, Nevada. Married by M. S. CLARK of the Methodist Church. Groom is a rising young attorney of this home town. Bride will remain with her mother for the present while groom will shortly leave for the gold fields of Alaska to seek his fortune.
Death of W. A. CARLETON, 77, of Elliston where he resided for more than half a century on Friday, the 17th. Funeral conducted by his nephews, Rev. W. R. ELLISTON and Dr. Robert CARLETON of Latonia; buried beside his first wife, who died 7 years ago, in the family burying ground; wedded second wife two years ago; four surviving children: Mrs. J. A. TURLEY of Elliston, Albert CARLETON of Covington, Charles of Latonia and William of Parson, kansas; four surviving brothers: John M. of Mt. Zion, Thomas of Glencoe, James of Sweet Owen, and Taylor of Latonia. Robert of Glencoe passed away a few months ago.

Victim of Spotted Fever: Mabel RENAKER, 12, victim of spotted fever, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. RENAKER, died at her home after an illness of less than a week, last Friday, of cerebral spinal meningitis. Funeral at the Benneckar [Renaker?] home Saturday. Burial in the Williamstown Cemetery.
Alonzo THRELKELD died at his home near Mason Saturday night, 62 years old. Funeral at the Mt. Lystra Christian Church Tuesday. Burial in Williamstown Cemetery. Fourteen years ago was defeated in bid for Democratic County Representative; was a Magistrate in the Mason Precinct years ago; served one term as a member of the fiscal court. Owner of several hundred acres of land in the southern part of the county. Attacked by dementia a few years ago,had treatment in Lexington Sanitarium.Was a solder in Confederate army from 1862 to 1865; was with Morgan's men; captured and spent quite a long term in Camp Chase [Ohio]. Married in 1873 to Miss Nannie JONES of Scott County. Eight children survive.
Death of Mrs. William SEWARDS, formerly of Williamstown, in Ludlow, Kentucky, suddenly Monday morning at her home, 14 Hay Street. Dr. CRIGLER attended. Survived by husband and two children. Buried Wednesday in Williamstown.
Husband and wife wedded 64 years have a family of eight children, ten grandchildren, and thirty great-grandchildren, all of whom are yet living save one. W. F. BICKERS, respected among his fellow man, lives "out on the wast side of Big Eagle, hemmed in by the lofty hills that give to that part of the county a scenic and picturesque appearance." Was born and reared in this county, living here all his life. In his 85th year, he and his [unnamed] wife have lived together for 64 years without ever the grim shadow of death having visited their home. The death of a grandchild in its infancy was "the only death that has occurred in the BICKERS family for more than half a century." His good wife is 81 years of age, their ages when they were married being 17 and 20 years respectively. Mr. BICKERS comes of a long-lived race, his father having died at the age of 104 and his mother at the age of 101.

Death of Mrs. Lillian B. SECHREST at her father's home [J. B. BRACHT] 1-1/2 miles north of Corinth on the Lexington Pike, Sunday morning, following a Saturday operation. Was in her 28th year. Sufferer of chronic peritonitis for many years and invalid. Married to J. B. SECHREST four years ago. He, a master mechanic of the Queen and Crescent railroad, lived in Chattanooga. Funeral Tuesday at the Williamstown Methodist Church; she was a devoted Baptist; burial in Williamstown Cemetery. Pall bearers were: Fred ELLISTON, Blain and Emmett BRACHT, and Frederick WEBBER. Survived by her father, four sisters, and a brother.
Death of Harvey Hayden ROSE, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Mat. ROSE of near Sherman, June 22, 1907, aged 15 years, 11 months, and 15 days. Born July 6, 1891. Was sick and had operation for appendicitis a few weeks ago. Not a church member. Funeral and burial was Sunday, June 23 at Gardnersville Christian Church. Marriage of Brooks NICHOLS of Hartford, Connecticut and resident of New York to Miss DUNLAP of Louisville, a second cousin of Williamstown's Dr. BLAINE, Tuesday, in Cincinnati. Wedding day plans deterred when his auto scared the horse and wagon tended by a small colored boy, son of Joe BROWN, of Williamstown. Resulted in the boy's broken ribs and internal injuries, believed to be fatal. He took boy to Dr. BLAINE but was arrested and posted bond. He sent his bride on to Cincinnati on the train, settled his affairs with the law and "declared nothing less than a charge of buckshot would stop him again" until he reached his bride for the wedding that evening. He is a Yale College graduate.

Twelve children; eight survive; three died in infancy. One boy (Clarence) died June 11, 1900 in Ogle County, Illinois, age 19. Living children are: Manual, Mrs. Lou TAYLOR, William, Cashes, Frank, Mrs. Carrie ELLIOTT, Arklus, and Edward. All present at death except Frank and William. She as oldest of family of eight and leaves one brother, James E. DENNIS of Brooksville. She was a faithful Baptist for 30 years.

W. H. H. DITZLER, who died June, 1905. She lived a Christian life and wrote poetry. Funeral held Monday at the Methodist Church at Salem and buried nearby.

Obituary for R. L. RANSOM [by John S. STEERS, Dry Ridge]: better known as Bob Lee Ransom of near Sherman, Grant County; was born in Boone COunty, near Verona, Kentucky on the 27th of August 1866; married Miss Mattie ROBERTS, daughter of Mar and Mrs. Lawrence ROBERTS of Boone County, about 14 years ago. Had 4 girls. They joined New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Boone; later united with Primitive Baptist Church at Dry Ridge. About 2 years ago his mind became unbalanced and he went to a private Sanitarium back of Cincinnati, then later to the Asylum near Louisville about the first of the year 1906, where he died Thursday, August 19, 1907. Remains brought to his father's Verona home then to Old Salem Church near Walton for his September 1st funeral and burial there in the Old Church Yard. Was son of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie RANSOM of near Verona. Was devoted son, husband, and father.

Lived More Than a 100 Years: "Aunt Maria", an aged Negress, died at Corinth, an ex-slave. Died last Friday [article dateline is September 19]; a colored woman of the antebellum days, who for more than an ordinary lifetime was a slave; was the property of James REDD; exact date of birth believed to be 1799, which would have made her 108 years of age at death. Had been married several times but few know her real name. Burial was in Corinth Saturday.
