With the demise of The Williamstown Courier, which published its last known issue on August 29, 1909, The Grant County News became the sole newspaper published in the county. The News was "born" in Dry Ridge on November 16, 1906, but later moved to Williamstown, presumably after the failure of the Courier. These abstracts covers The Grant County News for the years 1906 through 1920. It is regrettable that no issues for these entire years are on microfilm: 1908, 1909, 1910, 1915, 1916, 1917, 1918, 1919 & 1920. Additionally, other years, 1907, 1911, 1912, 1913, and 1914 have some missing or partial issues. Nevertheless, we can be thankful for the issues that were found and preserved on microfilm. --Abstracter, Robert L. Bickers.
