In the name of God Amen. I, Stephen Beverly of the County of Grant and State of Kentucky, being in common health and of sound mind and memory, but calling to mind the mortality of man and that it is appointed unto him to die, do hereby make and ordain this my last will and testament in following manner and form, to wit:

First of all I give and recommend my body to the tomb to be buried in a decent manner at the discretion of my administrators, my soul recommended into the hands of God who gave it nothing doubting but I shall received the same again by the mighty power of God who gave it, and as touching such worldly estate that it has pleased God to bless me with in this life I dispose of in  the following manner.

First of all I wish all my just debts and funeral charges to be paid. The balance of my estate I give and bequeath unto my wife, Lucy Beverly, during her natural lifetime or widowhood including both personal and real estate, but should said Lucy Beverly after my decease marry, in that case said Lucy Beverly shall be reduced to the one third part of the personal estate and I hereby recommend after my decease that all the personal estate that I possess be sold except such as said Lucy Beverly, my wife, shall ____ to keep for here sole use and benefit with the profits of the farm also and at the death of my beloved wife, Lucy Beverly, whatever is left of the estate at her death, I recommend to be equally divided between all my children except Josiah, I give and bequeath unto his son, James Marion Beverly one dollar, Josiah being otherwise parceled for and I do thereby make and constitute my son William Beverly my whole administration to carry this my last will and testament into effect.  I do hereby revoke and disannul all and every other former will and testament whatever made by me and make this my last will and testament. In testimony hereof I do hereby set my hand and affix my seal in the presence and in the presence of each other this 20th day of July in the year of our Lord 1849.  Stephen Beverly.  Witnesses present: John Sipple, William H. Grant County Court April Term 1852.
I, H. Woodyard, Clerk of the county court for the county aforesaid do hereby certify that the foregoing will of Stephen Beverly, deceased, was produced in open court at the term above stated and proven by the oath of John Sipple and Wm. H. Sipple, two subscribing witnesses thereto, which was received by the court and ordered to be recorded whereupon the said will hath been duly entered into record in my office, given under my hand this 6th day of May 1852.  H.
