Goras Burroughs

Goras Burroughs, son of Uranah and Lewis E. Burroughs was born in County, Kentucky March 13, 1879 and passed into the Great Beyond July31, 1928 at the age of 49 years, 4 months and 18 days. He was united in marriage to Daisy Meredith, Aug. 19, 1908. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, one son Raymond Burroughs, six sisters and three brothers; W. H. Burroughs, of California; Edgar Burroughs, of Williamstown, Ky.; Bayard Burroughs, of Erlanger, Kentucky.; Mrs. J. W. Shields of Williamstown, Ky.; Mrs. J.W. Hopper, of Covington, Kentucky; Mrs. John Goodwin, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Mrs. Henry Dunn, of Greensburg, Indiana; Mrs. R. L. Ewalt, of Covington, Kentucky; Miss Gertrude Burroughs, of Williamstown, Kentucky. One sister, Mrs. Alvin Ryan, having preceded him in death. He was a member of the Clarksburg Methodist Church and the Modern Woodmen fraternity and until recently was affiliated with the I.O.O.F. Lodge.

Naturally of a jovial disposition Goras made many friends. A lover of children and generous and sympathetic to those in trouble or distress. He will be missed by those who knew him most intimately. Making no great pretentious but in his own way he has made an impression upon those around him of lasting good and strong regard for his efforts in right living. A neighbor in his prime has been removed from us and this should remind us of the uncertainty of life and the sureness of death.
