I, Henry Childers of the County of Grant and State of Kentucky do make and constitute this my last will and testament. First, after my death, it is my desire that my just debts be paid

Second, after my death, I leave to my wife, Mary Childers, the farm on which I live during her life, should she survive me, and I also leave her my Negroes so long as she lives, to wit: Billy, Betsey and William.

Third, I leave to my dear wife, Mary Childers, all my personal property, notes and ____ and money on hand as so much thereof as she chooses to keep for her support as long as she lives.

Fourth, after my wife's death, should she survive me, if not, at my death, I will that my personal property be sold to the highest bidder at a _____ of twelve months except what is herein after directed. I will to William A. Henderson one good bed and bedstead and bedding and horse worth fifty dollars to be paid to him after the death of my wife.

Fifth, I will to my grandchildren Robert H. Henderson, Mary Jane Dyas, Elizabeth A. Proctor, Mary Bryan, Elizabeth, daughter of my son James Childers, Thompson Childers, William H. Childers, Asa M. Childers, James T. Childers, Elizabeth Glasscock, Ruth A. Sewards, Susan J. Childers, Martha Childers, Mary M. Childers, James H. Childers, Mary A. Childers, John W. Childers, Robert B. Childers, Sarah E. Childers, Rosabel Nichols, Elizabeth Nichols, Newton Nicholas and Jane Nichols one dollar each to be paid out of the proceeds of my personal estate.

Sixth, I will to my daughter, Rebecca Childers, five hundred dollars and I hereby appoint my son, Henry Childers, her trustee to appropriate the same to her use and benefit and the same to be paid out of the personal estate.

Seventh, after my said wife's death should she survive me, if not, at my death, I will to my son, Henry Childers, the farm on which I live containing one hundred seventy acres, more or less, with the appurtenances thereunto belonging provided there is enough of the personal estate to pay my daughter, Rebecca Childers, the above named five hundred dollars and if not to be made up out of the real estate.

Eighth, I will my three Negroes Betty, Betsey and William to my son, Henry Childers, at the death of my wife, Mary Childers, should she survive me, if not, at my death at which time my son Henry Childers is to have full possession of both land and Negroes and the remainder of my estate, if any, I will to my son, Henry Childers.

I hereby appoint my friend, Charles Ruddell, and my son, Henry Childers, executors of this my last will and testament and request them to act. Given under my hand and seal this 9th day of July in the year of our Lord 1851.  Henry Childers. Witnesses present: Alexander Dunlap, John D. Renneckar.

Grant County Court April Term 1852.
I, H. Woodyard, clerk of the county court for the county aforesaid do certify that the will of Henry Childers, deceased, was produced in open court at term before stated and proved by the oaths of Alexander Dunlap and John D. Renneckar two subscribing witnesses thereto and said will be approved of by the court was received and ordered to be recorded whereupon the same is duly admitted to record in my office. Given under my hand this 6th day of May 1852.  H. Woodyard, Clerk.
