In the name of God Amen. I, Woodford Childers of the County of Grant and
State of Kentucky being weak in body but of sound mind and memory thanks
be unto God, calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that is
is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will
and testament that is to say principally and first of all, I give and recommend
my soul unto the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend
to the earth to be buried in a decent Christian manner at the discretion
of my friends nothing doubting, but at the general resurection I shall receive
the same again by the mighty power of God ,and as touching such worldly estate
wherewith it has pleased God to bless me with in this life I give, demise,
and dispose of the same in the following manner and form, to wit:
First, I give and bequeath to my wife, Luzian Childers, my whole of my estate that I may be possessed of at my death after paying all claims against said deceased and to thereby make her my sole heir, this my last will and testament carry the same into effect, but should said Luzian Childers not live long enough to enjoy the whole of the estate during her natural life, the balance of the estate, if any, to go to my brothers and sisters, and do hereby distance all and every other will and testament and make this my last will and testament confirming this my will in testimony, hereof I have set my hand and in the year of June the 3rd 1851. Term 1851.
This last will and testament of Woodford Childers, dec'd, was produced
in open court at the term above stated and proven by the oaths of John W.
Laurence and John Beverly two subscribing witnesses thereunto which is ordered
to be recorded whereupon the same is duly admitted to record in my office,
given under my hand the 6th of August 1851. H. Woodyard,
